What does a Hotel Assistant Manager do?

The Assistant Manager is the Hotel representative in the absence of the Hotel Manager and is responsible across all departments for the day to day operations of the hotel, liaising closely with other department heads within the Hotel and West HQ on an as needs basis.  The role is primarily responsible for ensuring a high level of customer service, safety and security of guests and staff at all times.

Who's right for the job?

The ideal person will have previous experience in a leadership role and a strong understanding of hotel operations. The role best suits someone who enjoys working as part of a team and can be trusted to work well unsupervised. Providing a high level of personalised customer service is an absolute must.  A person who has experience working with PMS, Opera or Fidelio would be highly regarded, however training is available for the right person.

What you will need to be considered?

  • Experience in the same or a similar role within the Hotel Industry
  • A passion to deliver great customer service
  • Excellent personal presentation and conduct
  • Superior communication skills
  • Intermediate computer and Microsoft suite experience
  • Availability days, nights and weekends (flexible rosters)
  • Responsible service of Alcohol competency card (or willingness to obtain)
  • Full Australian work rights
