We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Recruitment Specialist to join our HR team at West HQ.


What does a Recruitment Specialist do?


Our Recruitment Specialist manages the end to end recruitment activities throughout West HQ and works closely with department managers to design and deliver recruitment initiatives to support business outcomes. This role will develop and implement best practice strategies and will raise the bar through the continual improvement of the recruitment function. This role is required to organise, prioritise and initiate tasks independently whilst reporting progress to the team.

The ideal candidate will have an engaging face to face style; instil confidence in their stakeholders; deliver difficult messages well, and demonstrate empathy, strong conflict resolution skills and understanding within the work environment. This role best suits someone who is able to work autonomously with a strong focus on organisational planning, workforce development and new employee experience. 

As the successful candidate you will be able to hit the ground running whilst being adaptable to a fast paced environment.


What you will need to be considered?

  • Previous experience in managing end to end recruitment including writing job advertisements, interviewing, preparing contracts and coordinating the on boarding process
  • Strong knowledge of HR practices 
  • Sound knowledge of ER/IR laws, Awards, the Fair Work Act, employment contracts, NES
  • Experience recruiting overseas candidates and arranging relevant Visas (preferred but not essential)
  • Excellent organisational, planning and time management skills
  • A tenacious mind-set, drive to succeed and desire to do the right thing (not the easiest)
  • Excellent communication skills with the humility and passion to engage employees at all levels, whilst negotiating and commanding gravitas at a senior level
  • Experience managing Recruitment projects – scoping, planning and delivering to budget and timelines
  • Strong attention to detail, proofreading and editing 
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications
  • Applicants must have the legal right to work in Australia
