Aquatics Trainer - Program & Teacher Development (Fixed Term)

We have a full-time position available for an experienced Aquatics Trainer – Program & Teacher Development to join our Aquatics team at Sydney Gymnastics & Aquatic Centre (SGAC) on a fixed term basis (13 February 2026 – 12 February 2027).

 

About the role:

This role plays a crucial role in maintaining the quality of the swimming & water safety teaching standard at SGAC. You will be responsible for:

  • training, observing and developing our aquatic program team
  • overseeing program quality and implementing best practices.
  • Conducting observations of the team, delivering impactful feedback that identifies skill gaps and unleashing proactive solutions to enhance their understanding and capabilities.
  • Empower our learn to swim teachers to perform at their absolute best, all while creating an unforgettable experience for our members.

What do you need to be considered?

  • AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming & Water Safety
  • AUSTSWIM Teacher of Towards Competitive Strokes
  • Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (minimally TAE40116) - Desirable
  • First Aid Certificate
  • CPR Accreditation
  • Working with Children Check
  • 5+ Years’ experience in teaching Swimming & Water Safety
  • 5+ Years’ Demonstrated Programming, Administration, Training Implementation and delivery
  • Broad industry experience
  • Demonstrated understanding of the aquatics industry, swimming and child development and technical training requirements from the Guidelines for Safe Pool Operations (GSPO)
  • Capacity to effectively use Microsoft Office Suite
  • Capacity to effectively use Xplor Recreation Customer Retention Management System (Desirable)
