About the Role:
In this role you will lead hospitality operations across a diverse calendar of live events, performances, and experiences. You will work in an environment where every event brings new challenges, new audiences, and new opportunities to exceed expectations.
The successful candidate will thrive in the fast pace of live entertainment and understand the importance of delivering excellence when the pressure is on. This role requires a leader who can balance operational demands with genuine hospitality - someone who can manage the unexpected while ensuring every guest feels welcomed, valued, and looked after.
Key duties & responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Front of House Manager to ensure a seamless, whole-of-venue experience for guests and hirers, discuss pre-event requirements, run sheets, production schedules and actions.
- Partner with the Theatre Services Manager and in-house chefs to execute catering requirements.
- Work with internal teams to keep the food product offering current, exciting and aligned with changing patron expectations.
- Develop seasonal cocktail menus, introducing innovative beverage concepts.
- Partner with the Marketing team on signage, venue branding, and promotional materials to enhance the patron experience.
- Process invoices, track expenditure.
- Collaborate with technical and operations teams to integrate hospitality timelines within overall production schedules.
- Conduct reviews to assess performance, guest feedback, and operational outcomes, driving continuous improvement.
- Manage stock, rosters, and outlet readiness to ensure smooth operations and optimal customer service.
The ideal candidate is someone who has:
- Proven experience in food and beverage management, ideally within events, entertainment, venues, or high-volume operations.
- A strong track record of delivering outstanding customer service experiences.
- Strong knowledge of business planning, event delivery, and customer care and pricing strategy development.
- Confidence managing change, unexpected challenges and competing demands.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong leadership capability with the ability to motivate and inspire teams.
- A proactive mindset and willingness to go above and beyond.
- The ability to stay composed and solutions focused in high-pressure situations.
- The ability to balance operational demands while maintaining a premium guest experience.
- A proven track record of successful implementation of hospitality strategy and marketing/promotions.
- Strong post-event analysis capabilities and data-driven decision-making skills.
- Current RSA Competency Card.
- Current First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Able to work Monday to Friday (office hours) with flexibility to work on nights and weekends during show periods.
